We are selling this very rare and unusual Chinese chair. This Horseshoeback armchair has large and generous proportions and is carved from Jichimu (Chicken Wing Wood). The back splat of the chair is carved with a decoration of two chilong dragons within a lobed roundel. The chair is in need of restoration, but the wear and damages lead us to believe it is an 18th century or earlier example.
Condition: Several areas of damages and losses.
